ZANU PF has dismissed allegations by opposition party CCC that it is abusing state resources, calling them “depressingly barren”. The claims were made in relation to the lack of transparency in the use of recently purchased helicopters, which the opposition says are being used to transport Zanu PF bigwigs at rallies.

However, Zanu PF National Spokesperson Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa dismissed the claims, saying that President Mnangagwa is entitled to the privileges of his office, including the use of helicopters.

Mutsvangwa went on to criticize the opposition, saying that they should focus on self-introspection rather than pointing fingers. He also accused the CCC of failing to deliver basic services to people under its purview and of misusing donor funds. He argued that if the funds had been used for better purposes, Zimbabwe would have prosperous industries and better service delivery.

The opposition’s accusations, according to Mutsvangwa, were baseless and lacked any evidence. He also pointed out that other countries, such as the United States, also use state resources for political campaigns.
