Arnold Zikhali, a 36-year-old man from Harare, has gained widespread attention after an H-Metro story detailed his incredible eating habits. Zikhali, nicknamed “The Oxman” for his large appetite, is said to consume food in a single day that would feed many people at a funeral over several days.
Since the article was published earlier this week, Zikhali has become an overnight sensation both in Harare and beyond. He has been challenged by a businessperson from Mhondoro who invited him to an eating competition, though they were unable to agree on terms.
Many companies are now trying to sign Zikhali to endorsement deals after learning of his story. A local restaurant also offered him free breakfast, lunch, and dinner to spend the day eating their food which they say would make for a “feel-good story.”
