Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa is setting an example for farmers in the country through his own agricultural activities. Mozambican President Nyusi recently visited President Mnangagwa’s farm in Sherwood, Kwekwe and praised his hands-on approach to farming.
President Mnangagwa’s farm has a variety of crops at different growth stages, including maize, wheat and soybeans. The farm also has fish farming and cattle rearing operations along with modern agricultural equipment. An attraction at the farm is rare Ankole breed of cattle and a large fish pond where the presidents fed the fish.
The farm manager said President Mnangagwa’s frequent presence and directives compel them to work harder to achieve farm targets. With proper planning and dedication, the farm is succeeding.
President Mnangagwa has expanded the farm by renting nearby lands to maximize crop yields for the country. He encourages Zimbabweans to increase agricultural production to achieve food security and not rely on imports affected by geopolitical issues.
President Nyusi praised President Mnangagwa for leading by example instead of just giving directives. His hands-on approach and productive farm show Zimbabweans what can be achieved through hard work. The farm utilizes modern technology and practices to help Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector grow.
